Not going to pretend this journal is anything but gratitious self-gratification and me trying to imagine what kind of life awaited Effy after the curtain went down on James' story. Was she happy in her marriage? Did she have the children and the fortune that Madge promised her? Is such a thing even possible when you lose your love and settle with the next-best thing?
